Who is Teresa Fidalgo? Debunking the overrated fake ghost story…

By 6 Comments

Even today, there are still people who think that they can fool people easily, even in this secular world. In this secular and pop culture, people just try to play smart and try to win the hearts of nostalgic lovers. However, there are still some stories like White Lady and Slender Man that seem to be copy-pasted everywhere, but what about Teresa Fidalgo’s story, which is spreading like wildfire on the internet?

Today, I’ll tell you the whole story and the truth behind it. Are you interested in knowing the truth and whether your mom will be killed or not if you ignore that message? If yes, stay with me!

Teresa Fidalgo

This all started with a quote that says:

“I am Teresa Fidalgo and if you don’t post this on 20 other photos I will sleep with you forever,” the quote spammed at the bottom of thousands of Instagram pictures this week somewhat ambiguously warns.

“A girl ignored and her mom died 29 days later. You can even search me on google.” (sic)

I know that you came here after reading this quote, as it is spreading like the wind across the internet. But don’t worry, I’ll tell you the whole truth. It’s crucial to first understand the history of the story before we can decide if it is true or not.

Teresa Fidalgo Video:

One person commented on the footage: “This is real. Two people I know were driving at the same time and saw this girl in the white dress. Someone pulled her off the road when she crossed the road or tried to commit. Then they said the police came and as they did a U-turn. To see what was going on, the girl, the guy, and the police disappeared. Now, as they were telling a friend and me, my friend told them about this video and described the girl, and they said it was her..”

Teresa Fidalgo History:

Essentially, this story began with a car accident that happened on 23 March 1983 in a city called Sentra in Portugal. The accident report indicates that there were four people in the car, including two females and two males. Three of them died, and one guy named David survived. There was a girl who died in this accident named Teresa Fidalgo. A video clip of the incident appeared on the internet later in 2014 and spread like wildfire (see the video above).

Accident in Footage:

The footage shows three passengers (2 men and 1 woman) driving at night in a remote location. There was no traffic on the road, and the passengers were telling stories about ghosts. As they speak, they notice a girl walking beside the car on the footpath.

When they saw the girl, they offered her a lift, and she accepted. A while later, they started talking. The girl points toward the road where she died, and when the camera flashes on her face, her face was bloody. She attacks the passengers, and the footage ends here.

According to the subtitles, two passengers (one male and one female) died in the incident. Luckily, David Rebardao, who was recording the footage, survived but was unable to explain what exactly occurred that night.

Now, just like other White lady stories, this story is also linked with a real car accident. The Portuguese police confirmed that a girl named Teresa Fidalgo had died in the same road accident back in 1983.

The Reality of Teresa Fidalgo:

You read the whole story. Right? Now, what if I tell you that what you read is not true? You’re surely gonna kill me. It is, in fact, a fake story, a scripted short film, and the story is 100% fake. The footage or video appears to be real, but the story that is told in the video is fake.

This short film was produced and directed by David Rebardao, a Portuguese producer and director. Yes, the same guy who survived the car accident. This story was produced in 2013 and released on David Rebardao’s YouTube channel in 2014. David titled it “A Curva”.

In an interview with a national TV station, he acknowledged that the video was a short film. He mentioned that it was a scripted story filmed during the shooting of one of his movies.

Now you will say if the story is fake, then tell me what about the spam messages that are flooding the internet?

The answer to this question is that if the story is fake, then how can the messages related to it be true? Yes, the messages are also fake, and they are just a stunt by some silly people, and innocent people like you and me are sharing them for nostalgic reasons.

It is simply a matter of common sense that must prevail to stop these false stories and messages.

The story of a Persian Princess named Princess Qajar is also famous nowadays. We also have a separate article on it. You can read it on our website.

Conclusion:

To conclude, I just want to assure you that you and your family are 100% safe, so please do not share this nonsense message. And if you will not share it, Teresa Fidalgo will not sleep beside you on your bed. You don’t need to be scared if you receive this message, as it is fake.

One more thing, David Rebardao is pleased with the popularity of his first short film. So, he created another short film named Teresa Fidalgo Strikes Again in the Teresa Fidalgo series. In my opinion, it is also fake, and if someone shares it with you, please use your common sense and tell them that this is also fake.

In the end, just use your common sense and be aware!

If you like this article, do share it with your friends because:

Sharing is Caring!
